Jelle Martens collages seem to have a stained filter placed over the finished pieces. He make use of geographical shapes and cutouts of his photography in those shapes to create a pattern. These add a signature effect to all his work, and create a matured atmosphere around them.
These 6 developments are digital collages that make use of different shapes placed along the background in different patterns. Some naturally occurring which reflect Jelle Martens nature-based photography. Some with a more artificial pattern, similar to Belle Martens unnatural patterns. The shapes are filled with cutouts from the levelled photographs (in photographs 3), these are distorted and further levelled to resemble the naturalistic vision effect Jelle Martens photography. This creates a fragmented effect as none of the shapes ever touch, they are separate but add up to make a whole, similar to the different parts of our days.
